Mozilla Launches AI Website Builder - Soloist

Image
In December the good folks at Mozilla gave us a Google Business Site alternative. I decided to check it out. It's super-cool. AI builds the first draft of the site and it is incredibly simple to edit. Here's my Google Post about it: https://posts.gle/FN648SMY9g5AVsV8A I made a couple, just to see what it was all about. https://soloist.ai/ilovelife https://soloist.ai/webboss

What's going on here?

Image
This particular spot in the blogosphere is a place for play and experimentation. The genesis for starting this particular blog was the knowledge that the Google Business Profile websites will be going away and I wanted a place to post, in a serial nature, as we have been with GBP posts. But it's grown into so much more! Like a mad scientist, once I get started... ... I just can't stop. So now, in addition to a replacement for Google Posts, I'm thinking Blogger can serve many more uses. We used to claim Blogger blogs for clients when we couldn't install a blog on their site and we've moved away from that. But, Blogger was one of the earliest blogging platforms and offers a lot of value. Where other platforms have gotten more and more complex, Blogger is still very simple. Or you can make it complex. It's also really valuable because you can embed it in other place, like Google Sites, which we're looking at as GBP site alternative. I'll keep you up to date...

Embrace Mediocrity… Summary

Image
In the humorously defiant blog post titled 'Embrace Mediocrity', the author, Will Scott, rallies readers to take a break from being the 'best' and wallow comfortably in the pool of mediocrity. He outlines how the concept of being 'average' somewhat holds a negative connotation when we are constantly pushed to excel in everything we do. He argues that it is this proclivity to always compete that relegates a good portion of our lives to stress and dissatisfaction. Scott highlights the exhausting competitiveness of the digital age, suggesting that everyone is in a frantic race to outdo their peers. From maintaining the perfect Instagram feed to acing the work presentation, the pressure to be perfect is quite burdensome. He suggests chilling a bit- it's perfectly okay not to be a perfectionist. The author is a fan of celebrating the ordinaries, the 'average Joes,' who, in his perspective, form the great majority of us. He tries to rebrand the term ...

The Google Business Site Hammer Falls

Image
If you operate a Google Business website, then you have likely already gotten this message from Google. "Websites made with Google Business Profiles are basic websites powered by the information on your Business Profile. In March 2024, websites made with Google Business Profiles will be turned off and customers visiting your site will be redirected to your Business Profile instead. The redirect will work until June 10, 2024." This is a bummer. A whole lot of local businesses are going to be scrambling for another option. Were "bad actors" abusing these sites? No doubt. But there are countless hapless SMBs who will now be without a web presence because of this decision. I was using a Google Business site for WebBoss due to its ease of update and operation. I'll be shifting to a Google Site with a Blogger blog for the posts and migrating/mirroring all updates there. Both are a work in progress. No judgement, please :) https://sites.google.com/view/webboss-ws/  h...

Plastic Surgery Content GPT

Image
I decided to play with creating a custom GPT. I tried to imbue it with a positive voice and tone. And I also had it create images to go with the responses. Some are a bit funky. Here's the link:  https://chat.openai.com/g/g-ax4DxnSgl-plastic-surgery-content More Resources: LEARN MORE

Motherhood and Early Childhood Development

Image
Motherhood and Early Childhood Development Parenting is a multifaceted responsibility that encompasses the nurturing, guidance, and education of children. It's not limited to biological relationships but extends to adoptive, foster, and other forms of guardianship. Parenting styles can vary widely based on cultural, personal, and societal influences. Effective parenting often requires a balance of love, discipline, patience, and understanding. As children grow, the challenges and rewards of parenting evolve, necessitating adaptability and continuous learning on the part of the parent. The ultimate goal of parenting is to raise independent, responsible, and emotionally healthy individuals. LEARN MORE
